Dear reader,
Christmas and
New Year: two feasts not to be let passed by, but especially to be cherished!
Christmas is for us the most important feast: Christmas, the family
feast par excellence, feast of the Light, of the coming of the Messiah, feast
of Peace, …, … You will surely find other ‘epithets’ or other
interpretations for this universal feast.
Whatsoever the
milieu in the world where you will celebrate this feast, you will have the
choice of a contemplative and familiar
feast, or one more exuberant with the bells ringing announcing with all their
force the good tidings. But perhaps you should celebrate Christmas in silence,
though deeply convinced? In every heart, there should be a «Venite Adoremus»,
hope and complete confidence for greater positivism and for this almost magic
word: ‘Peace’
This true peace
is ever less comprehended and ever more misunderstood in our universe which can
be too critical and too egocentric. Therefore I wish you a peace similar to an
arch-in-the-sky, which tends from a respect of the other to a place well heated
in a heart open to all opinions and convictions.
How was the voice
that preached in the desert?
Should we look in
our Faith for courage and the evangelical counsels, saying: «Peace on earth to
the people of good-will!»?
To all our colleagues, professors or teachers, who face
sometimes a (somewhat) difficult life because of different problems and to
their families. I wish in the name of the directing board, the members of
UMEC-WUCT and, of course, in my own, a Holy Christmas!
To all those colleagues and their families who need a strong
encouragement and a sincere appreciation of their task often very difficult, I
wish to send a strong dose of courage,conviction, a positive spirit and an
unshakeable faith.
I don’t forget those who lead a hard life. My sincere and
convinced appreciation goes to all those who face the heavy task of bearing witness to their Faith and to the Christian
and Catholic values which inspire them in an egoistic world.
In 2014,
UMEC-WUCT wishes to put its finger in the plaque and will be very happy to
receive whatsoever signal coming from some teacher in some place in the world.
Give us a sign, raise your finger and send us a message that you are member of
our so huge family of teachers of Catholic inspiration!
For 2014 UMEC-WUCT wishes you a good and happy year, an iron health and
the realisation of all your wishes.
Would it not be marvellous trying to realize together this prayer of the
Franciscan Father
Lord, make me a channel of thy peace;
that where there is hatred, I may bring love;
that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness;
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony;
that where there is error, I may bring truth;
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
that where there is despair, I may bring hope;
that where there are shadows, I may bring light;
that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort than to
be comforted;
to understand, than to be understood;
to love, than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life. Amen.
Happy Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
